Kumba Ethical Terms

INTERNET SUMMARY

Kumba creations products are sourced from around the world. Customers have come to expect our products to conform to the highest standards; it is a reputation we guard vigorously.

In our Ethical Sourcing Code we have addressed issues that concern our customer and the improvement we hope to make on the working conditions of workers throughout our global vendor base.

Under no circumstances is the health and safety of employees and local labours compromised.

We believe that all workers have the Fundamental Labour Rights set under the Convention of International Labour organisation (ILO). The Right to Freedom of Association, the Right to Collective Bargaining, Prohibition of Forced Labour and Discrimination, Equal Pay for Men and Women and Minimum age of Employment of Children.

All our vendors must comply with our Ethical sourcing Code, demonstrating by pledging in writing to abide by the guidelines stipulated prior to awarding of contracts. Unannounced audits by the Kumba creations technical teams or independent bodies are conducted to verify vendor compliance and assess avenues for continuous improvement.

We believe in building long term relationships with our vendors rather than moving from one vendor to another. Where non-compliance occurs and the vendor demonstrates a strong commitment to conform to our standards, an agreed time frame will be stipulated for the vendor to implement corrective measures.

In this way we believe we can help improve the working conditions of individuals and over time contribute to the economic development of the community, rather than to terminate our business in which the end sufferer will be the very people we aim to protect.

We reserve the right to terminate contractual agreements where vendors fail to demonstrate a willingness to implement or comply to the Ethical Sourcing Code.
